What it is
A round hand imitating the Carolingian minuscule of classical manuscripts rediscovered by humanists, and the slanted cursive Niccoli derived from it. It is the origin of printed roman and italic letters.
The attribution to Salutati, Poggio or Niccoli is disputed; the style arose in their circle around 1400-1420.
