What was discovered
Revision of the planetary model in which Mercury and Venus orbit the Sun and the Sun orbits the Earth, which corrected the equations of the centre for the inner planets. It is a geo-heliocentric scheme similar to the one Tycho Brahe proposed in 1588.
The geo-heliocentric reading is by K. Ramasubramanian and colleagues (1994) and is accepted by many, though not all, historians.
What it led to
- better predictions for Mercury and Venus
- commentaries and proofs from the Kerala school (Yuktibhasa)
