Hunter obtained the pure metal in 1910.
What it led to
- White titanium dioxide pigment
- Aerospace alloys and biocompatible prostheses
- The Kroll process (1940) for metallic titanium
Built on
- Mineral analysis
- Magnet for sand separation
Made possible
- Kroll process
- Titanium implants
