What was discovered
Isolated in a sentinel monkey and then in mosquitoes from the Zika Forest during yellow fever studies. Its link to microcephaly was discovered in the 2015-2016 American epidemic.
Published in 1952. The first human cases were described in Nigeria in 1954.
