What it is
A horse carriage fitted with an electric motor, fed from two overhead wires by a contact trolley, ran in April 1882 in Berlin's Halensee district. It was the first trolley-pole electric vehicle without rails.
The installation was experimental and lasted a few months; commercial trolleybuses arrived around 1900-1910.
